1 lb ground turkey +
1 box rotini +
1 jar marinara sauce +
A dash of chipotle powder, ancho chile powder, and smoked paprika +
A handful of shredded taco cheese.

Boom.

And then I rolled some up in a tortilla and it tasted even better.

For some reason, I can’t re-blog (Tumblr says I’m not logged in when I view this page?) so I’m linking to the original post instead.

I’ve hopped aboard a post-punk express train called All Eyes West as their new drummer. These dates in May are my first official shows with the band.

Super excited to shift gears (stylistically) and explore some new terrain. At last, all those teenage years I spent drumming in my basement are paying off.

This Sunday night at the Double Door is my last show with Rocket Miner. Here’s the requisite Facebook event page, and if you live outside of Chicago you can stream the whole thing online HERE.

After we play we are giving away my snare drum head, which my bandmates and I will all sign, and which will also have the set list written on it. Come to the show and you’ll have a chance to win.

Having played with these guys and built this band from the ground up for the last two and a half years makes this a bittersweet night for me, but I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life and music career.

“The planet’s discovery came from a collaboration between Kepler scientists and a consortium of international researchers who employ asteroseismology — measuring oscillations in the star’s brightness caused by continuous star-quakes, and turning those tiny variations in the star’s light into sounds.

‘That’s basically listening to the star by measuring sound waves,’ said Steve Kawaler, from Iowa State University in the US, and a member of the research team. ‘The bigger the star, the lower the frequency, or ‘pitch’ of its song.’”

No more playing with a cracked crash/ride for this guy. I finally got around to replacing my (now third) 19” Zildjian Custom K Crash. Seriously, it was getting embarrassing to schlep around.

H/T to the drummers in other bands who have let me borrow an extra cymbal from them at shows for the last few months.
